Single Implants - Neodent

6 CEUs - 6x Implants Placed

Intro

Join Dr. Guy Gross for a course walking you through the steps necessary to place a single implant. The course presents several options for managing soft tissue for the best post-operative results by teaching through the process first in a hard-tissue model, then adding the complexity of soft tissue management with the complete tissue model.

*important: This is intended to be taken as a team. It is important for both the doc and assistant to have the same expectations going into implant cases and to learn to support one another to produce the very best outcomes for our patients. Each video shows the process of the assistant and doc working together on each step. THIS IS INTENTIONAL and meant to provide an example of good teamwork in the operatory. Don't use this as an opportunity to test each other, but rather as a chance to provide a safe and supportive environment to try new techniques and procedures – even getting it wrong sometimes! Every opportunity to learn is valuable, but when you learn as a team, you will succeed because of the team.

Remember – when you are supportive and operating well as a team, your patients will trust you more, and say “Yes" more often!

Virtual, Hands-On?

ConfiDental training is intended to not only give you information but also have you practice and apply that information in true-to-life environments and situations. Use the resources provided, and pay attention to the videos and tasks that are Hands-On as these will require you to have certain pieces of equipment and instrumentation available.

All ConfiDental training is intended to be completed in your clinic in an operatory. Training in the same environment as you intend to work provides invaluable mental, emotional, and physical learning benefits, and makes your training much more effective. Do this training in your operatory!

Course Content

Walk through the case planning process with Dr. Guy as he looks at this patient’s case, specific considerations, and surgical planning for implant placement.

We will look at the patient surgery from beginning to end, with Dr. Guy narrating the procedure.

Here’s where the rubber hits the road. You will start to practice implant surgical skills using ConfiDental’s proprietary hard-tissue surgical model, along with the surgical kit and implants that come as part of the hands-on kit. The surgical practice is based on the case planning and patient surgery that is presented at the beginning of this course, so each step replicates the actual patient case and intended patient outcomes you’ve already seen. Practice each step with a remarkably accurate haptic experience, from initial pilot drill to full osteotomy and implant placement.

Learning how to handle hard tissue management for optimal patient outcomes is great, but if it isn’t paired with learning how to manage soft tissue then we won’t get much closer to replicating a real patient case. Using ConfiDental’s proprietary complete-tissue surgical model, you’ll perform the same hard tissue techniques and process learned in the previous section, as well as learn and practice soft tissue techniques like incision, reflection, suturing, and overall considerations for excellent patient outcomes.

This course will address the following learning objectives:

  1. Learn to perform a crestal incision with and without vertical release for longer-span reflection and visualization of the osseous crest.
  2. Learn and perform the mini-envelope flap technique for the maximization of keratinized tissue.
  3. Learn and perform the soft tissue punch technique for cases with adequate keratinized gingiva.
  4. Learn and perform the cortical perforation and osteotomy for posterior implants.
  5. Learn to manage the soft tissue for maximum healing immediately postoperatively via the use of appropriate healing caps and/or cover screws.
